Missionary Prayer Needs

Please continue to pray for these Missionaries and their families…

Ed & Barbara Louton – serving at Union Bible Institute (UBI) in Mayors Walk, South Africa. Donald and Ed were classmates at Columbia International University; they graduated together in 2005. Please pray for Ed and Barbara as they settle back into their routine after their time in the States. Pray that the Lord will use the death of their student to strengthen and encourage the faith of the all those who are taking classes as they prepare to go out as Missionaries across Africa.  Pray also that the Lord will give them peace and calm their fears in the face of the outbreak of Ebola. While Ebola may be a terrifying and deadly disease, sin is 100% fatal unless the shed Blood of Jesus Christ is applied by faith.

Dan & Mary Lu Coventon serving with Farthest Horizons in San Pedro Honduras. PRAY that as Dan continues to train pastors and teachers, his course based on the book, "Commissioned: What Jesus Wants you to Know as you Go”, that the Spirit will touch the hearts of the Honduran Church so that they will answer the call and say, “Here I am Lord, send me.”  Pray also for Mary Lu’s ongoing therapy and wonderful improvement in her mobility and for the remodel of their facilities at home to better accommodate her limitations at this time.

(1Cor 12:12; Hebrews 13:3) Praise the Lord (Matthew 16:18) Please pray for the “Awake the Nations” Conference, November 1st in Midland, TX.  Pray for safe travel for the speakers and that the Spirit will touch the hearts of both those who attend, and those who are praying for the Persecuted Church around the world.  Pray also for the upcoming trip to Kenya and Ethiopia in December.

Nhiako & Doua Lor as they serve with the Christian and Missionary Alliance based in Surin, Thailand. Please continue to pray for Nhiako and Doua as they serve as village evangelists in rural NE Thailand. (Matt 9:37) From their Face Book: “Doua and I are doing fine just very busy with the ministry. Last Monday, we (the church members and friends) went to evangelize in 3 villages and more than 4 converted. Please pray for them and for us too.” (Mark 6:12-13; Ephesians 4:12; 2 Timothy 4:5)

For the next generation of spiritual leaders being trained in Bible Schools, churches, and Bible studies throughout South East Asia to follow Christ and lead wherever He sends. [And] for the successful registration of care giving groups for orphans and trafficked children and young adults in South East Asia; for the care givers to have insight and wisdom to nurture those in their care.

C, P & I Her (alias) – Please continue to pray for the Her family. There is little information which can be shared even in a guarded manner. They are SE Asian missionaries who are in North Africa sharing the Gospel and ministering to Muslims. Pray for their safety, God’s provision to meet their needs, and for the team as they work to sow the seed of the Gospel. While the harvest may be ripe, there are regions of the world where it is very dangerous to share your faith. (Philippians 4:19)

Richard and Wendy Wilks, serving with Highways and Hedges Ministry (Luke 14:22-23) Please continue to pray for Richard and Wendy and their campground evangelism ministry. They are back out on the road after a five week stop in North Idaho for repairs and maintenance on both their Suburban and camper. Pray for their health and safety, for the Lord’s provision and protection as they travel and share the Gospel, and that fruit will come from their faithfulness (Acts 26:18-19), even the redemption of lost souls.  “The Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) “Go ye" (Mark 16:15)

Bob & Rhonda Farley serving in Belize. (Eph 4:11-13) Pray for the Farley’s as they transition to a new ministry covering.  Pray that this will be a time of refreshing of their vision to continue to encourage, train and equip national pastors, evangelists and church leaders, as well as the youth, for the building up of the Body of Christ in Belize. (Ephesians 4:12; Galatians 6:10; 1 Peter 3:11)

Jeff & Jolene Hurt and their children (Luke 10:2)Please continue to pray for the Hurts as Jeff and Jolene work through the application process with Bible Centered Ministries (BCM) Pray that Jolene’s health will continue to improve so that they, as a family, can help meet the great need for faithful laborers in Ireland. The Irish people are wandering in spiritual darkness and confusion. The “things of this world” have enslaved them.  It is a culture that is being held hostage by the devil and without the Word of the Lord being sown “in Spirit and in Truth” they are without hope. (Romans 15:4; 2 Corinthians 3:12)

Joshua and Machaira Hurt will be serving in Ireland with Bible Centered Ministries (BCM). They have been accepted as missionaries with BCM. Please pray for these newlyweds as they travel sharing God’s burden for the millions of lost souls in Ireland and that brothers, sisters and churches will come alongside and help support them financially. ($3,200/mo.) Once in Ireland, they will be assigned to the BCM headquarters, conference center and residency in the town of Moate. (Acts 13:2; Haggai 1:14)

(John 3:17; Acts 26:18)

Chad & Ruthanne Lynch and their children serving with United World Mission among the Mapuche people of Chile.  (Matthew 9:36-37; 25:34-39) From their Newsletter:  We have been back in Chile now for a week. We have adapted to the time change  and have fallen back into the familiar routine of school, ministry and home life...There have been births, deaths, marriages and the change of employment status.  The children have noticeably grown...Ruthanne’s ladies small group met every week (missing only one week in 6 months).  One of the biggest changes is that the Mapuche conflict has increased in our area...The political activist among the Mapuche’s have been demanding that the land that was taken from them over a hundred years ago be given back to them...This is most of Southern Chile...The fight for the land and the right to have their own government has increased and become more violent...We feel safe but we hear the tension in the voice of our friends. Things are not the same as when we left. We are evaluating what this will mean to our ministry... [In] communities where the gospel message is strong, we are not seeing conflicts.  There is power in the message of the gospel. Pray that we would have wisdom and discernment as we live in work in a area torn by conflict and spiritual warfare.

Joy McKeegan serving with Gospel for Asia(1 Samuel 30:24-25) Thanks be to God for the new GFA Campus. Pray for the last of the funds needed to complete the facility and for the closing on the sale of the old building. Pray for the staff as they finish the move into new offices and get resettled into new homes. Pray for “courage, trust and perseverance for missionaries, pastors and churches facing opposition on the mission field.” Pray also for the “churches on the mission field to have sturdy church buildings”. A Christian Church standing in a Hindu culture is a significant witness to the glory of God the Father.  Continue to pray for additional monthly financial support. (1 Corinthians 9:14)

Meanwhile ISIS is on our northern border with Syria occupying the buffer zone since they overcame the UN troops & the Syrian army. The Lord is in control! Good thing to keep in mind these days.

Karen Rickel is a nurse who has been serving with World Gospel Mission (WGM) among the Garifuna people of Roatan, Honduras. (Malachi 4:2) Please pray for Karen. She is continuing to undergo treatment for her uterine cancer and her exams show that there is improvement. PTL!  Continue to pray for her volunteer work as a patient advocate at the local Pregnancy Help Center, that the Seed of the Gospel will be gently sown into troubled hearts and souls will be saved.

Paul-André and Jocelyne Eicher as they serve the Lord with the MIDI BIBLE in Préverenges, Switzerland. (Revelation 7:9) From their Newsletter:  “Thank God: For the Bible and NT in Cabécar and in Sisaala that arrived at their destinations in excellent state. For the two new projects that came in at exactly the right moment. For the faithful support of donors. For the inspiring dedication celebration of the Bible in Sisaala that took place June 28th. Intercede: For the translation teams in Banna (Ethiopia), in Tamajaq (Niger) and in Gonja (Ghana) that are in the critical final phases of proofreading and verification. For the translation in Abuan (Nigeria, 150,000 people). The complete Bible has been translated by national volunteers after the expulsion of Wycliffe missionaries. They now need wisdom and patience to assure the quality of the translation before publication. For the distribution of the Cabécar NT in the small village of the mountains of Costa Rica. Also pray for their ongoing protection (1Thessalonians 5:24). There has been some tribal conflict in their area and one night recently there were shots fired at their compound. Ebola is a growing threat in Africa, and has the potential to spread into Uganda as well. Recently there was a report of at least one person in Uganda believed to have the Marburg Virus. This is a disease similar to Ebola. (Matthew 24:7-8)
